How many hours do you think it took to make this?

How many hours do you think it took to make this?

Tel Aviv’s Notorious Chocolate Festival was on the weekend of Valentine’s Day, Feb, 14th. It was posted everywhere, and I thought it would be a fun activity to do with my kids. Well, to start, the journey took two hours! By the time we arrived, we were exhausted and hungry for chocolate!

An Upscale Nail Salon in Trendy Tel Aviv

photo 2I would like to share with you a very memorable manicure experience that I endured in Tel Aviv at a very chic nail salon named French. French is located on 25 Aleph Rechov Melchet, right next to the one of Tel Aviv’s notorious fashion high end streets, Rechov Shenkin.

French reminded me of the nail salons I used to go to when I lived in London. Once I walked in, I knew that I was in the right place. I can’t explain it, but I just knew. It had the air of quality. The floors were spotless. The decor was simple. Cream walls, cream floors. There was French music softly playing the background. A spa type smell was floating in the air. I felt so relaxed and already sensed the experience would be one of a kind. The clientele looked very classy and stylish.

Israel Company Dresses up Tights and Leggings

These are similar to my blue ones.

These are similar to my blue ones.

I remember back in my college days, printed stockings were the latest fashion fad. I bought my first pair from The Limited Express, ltd. in NY. It was right next to Stern College, Yeshiva University, where I studied. Blue bouquets of flowers covered the light blue stockings. I do remember that the quality of the material was good because I was so comfortable in them. There were many wears of this particular pair before I saw a run. I never bought another pair because I loved them so much. When the fashion fad changed, the tights were thrown out and forgotten.

A few weeks ago, my friend from London was wearing black tights with a knock out pattern! I felt sentimental. Why did I throw that pair of stockings in the garbage?

Not long ago, I met a woman who creates her own artistic tights. (more…)

At the same young designers fashion fair in Ramat Aviv, that I attended a few weeks ago, I met another marvelous team of Jewelers. Ili Goren, owner of Ili Goren Jewelry Design and Mayan Hazan, owner of Petitaureau.

Both women are fashion and jewelry designers. Each of them runs their own jewelry companies, solo. You can find their designs and jewelry at Shoemaker Boutique in Tel Aviv until the end of Feb. It is located on 20 King George Street.

On Thursdays and Fridays, you can see their jewelry at their individual stands. This inside jewelry market takes place at the Dizengoff Center on Dizengoff Street in Tel Av. The Jewelry fair  is located on the -1 level floor below the main floor of the mall. It’s usually packed with shoppers so try to get there early.
